The Tango dancers’ are water colour studies for larger oil paintings. I’m interested in the quality of contact between the dancers. Although the dance is a dramatic display there is no artifice. At its best this overtly dramatic play of love and passion, inspired by music, enacts the intimacy of conjoined, deeply felt emotion expressed throughout the line of the body as a whole, acting as one and exquisitely tender facial expression.
