Memories of Lilith

Notes

‘Memories of Lilith’ is from a series of full length self portraits’, that were shown in the exhibition ‘The I of the beholder’ a 2 woman exhibitionat Bradford University (1993). It is about yearning for lost innocence and how defensiveness has created aggressive strategies in the psyche. However the umbilicus lying at her clawed feet signifies both immaturity and the notion of Gaia and the human attachment to the earth from which we were created and are dependent upon.
